Quick and easy craft: Key ring with a golf ball

Good afternoon! Today, a quick and easy craft.....

Some days ago, my company sponsored and participated in a golf tournament (bosses sometimes do such funny things to earn a living, you know, playing golf for example, mmm...Better let´s not disperse with this subject...) 

Well, the thing is, we made some cute balls for the occassion, wtih the company logo and all the fuss. As I don´t count playing golf among my hobbies, when I was given one ball (now, that IS generous, isn´t it? ;)...) I thougt... so what shall I do with this...?? An I decided to make a key ring, for Jaime (and with him too...) It´s very easy. All we need is:

• Golf Ball. By the way, I´ve seen some in beautiful, bright colours...
• Thin, manual borer (1 mm)
• Small silver eyebolt, long and slightly thicker than the borer
• Key ring

We now make a hole in the ball wiht the borer, being carefull to put it more or less in the middle of the drawings of the ball. It´s easy and quick. Be ware not to make a very long hole, just enough to be able to put the eyehole in.. The we enlarge the hole with the eyehole. Once it´s done and secured, we just put the keyring, and it´s done!!

Manualidad rápida y fácil: Llavero con pelota de golf

Buenas tardes! Hoy una rapidita y muy facil de hacer...

Hace unos días, mi empresa patrocinó y participó en un torneo de golf (Inciso: qué cosas más curiosas hacen los jefes para ganarse la vida, jugar al golf... mmmm) En fin, no nos dispersemos... La cuestión es que se hicieron unas pelotas muy cuquis, con el logo de la empresa. Como una no tiene entre sus aficiones aún practicar el deporte en cuestión, cuando me dieron una de las bolitas como recuerdo (qué generosidad...) pensé... ¿y que hago yo con esto? Así que decidí hacer un llavero, para Jaime (más bien con y para Jaime...jejeje. En esta también ha participado él) 

La cosa es bien facil... Se necesita:

• Bola de golf. Por cierto, que las he visto de colores muy chulas...
• Berbiquí fino (1 mm, aproximadamente)
• Hembrilla plateada, con la rosca larga y un poquito mas gruesa que el berbiquí. 
• Llavero

Procedemos a perforar la bola con el berbiquí, cuidando de que el agujero nos quede centrado para con los dibujos de la bola. Es muy facil, no cuesta mucho. No hacer muy largo el agujero, solo lo suficiente para poder embocar la hembrilla, y seguir perforando ya con esta. Una vez tenemos la hembrilla ya bien enroscada, colocamos el llavero, y voilá! Llavero listo.

Good afternoon!

I´ve been completely off. I admit it. But, this time, I´ve got a good excuse. Finally, after about a million years or so (ok, more like 20 years... :)) I´ve decided to take my CPE exam. For those of you who don´t know what it is, CPE is THE english exam. The one that allows you to prove you´re bilingual. Back when I was eighteen, I was prepared and ready to take it, but the dates of the exam were the same as the ones for my Selectivity exam. After that, when I got to university, I did not have the time, nor the intentions, so I just posponed it indefinitely. Until last week, when out of the blue came up the idea of trying again. So, here I am. Between my job, my english, and this hot weather (that keeps me heading for the beach) I´ve got little time left por handcrafts.

So, and in order to practice my writing, I´ve thought perhaps it would be a good idea to start by writing my posts both in spanish and in english. And since I haven´t had time to make anything myself to show you, I´m writing about some new technique I´ve seen on the web, and that I think will be my next experiment. I say new, just to say something, because although I had never seen it, it´s a very acient technique. Its called tatting (frivolité, in spanish) and it´s a kind of lace that offers lots of possibilities for jewelry making.

Super ausente del blog. Lo admito. Pero la excusa, esta vez, es buena... Por fin, después de como un millón de años (bueno, vale, unos 20...) me he decidido a presentar el Proficiency. Para los que no sepáis lo que es, es el último examen de Cambrigde, el que certifica que tu nivel de inglés es completamente bilingüe. En su día, lo tenía listo para ir a examen, cuando tenía 18 años, pero coincidian las fechas con las de mi examen de Selectividad. Después de eso, cuando empecé en la universidad, no tenía ni ganas ni tiempo, así que lo fui dejando, dejando... hasta la semana pasada, cuando de súbito de la nada surgió la idea de volver a retomarlo. Así que aquí estoy, entre el trabajo, el inglés y el caloret (que me lleva a la playa continuamente), con poco tiempo libre para el blog y las manualidades. 

Bueno, para practicar la escritura, he pensado que sería una buena idea comenzar por escribir los post en los dos idiomas, inglés y español...Y como no he tenido tiempo de hacer nada propio que enseñaros, quiero mostraros algo nuevo que he encontrado por las redes, y que creo que será mi próximo reto... Digo nuevo por decir algo, porque aunque yo no lo había visto nunca, es una técnica super antigua. Se llama tatting en inglés (Frivolité en español) y se trata de una modalidad de encaje que ofrece muchas posibilidades a la hora de hacer bisutería...
